The annual Balbriggan/North County Dublin Branch of Irish guide dogs for the blind walk took place on Sunday 29th May.  The day was beautiful and it brought out the crowds and the dogs. The walk took about 45 minutes and all who participated loved it.  Supervalu Balbriggan were very generous in supplying lovely refreshments to all the humans who took part and for the dogs plenty of water was made available.

A beautiful hamper was raffled off which was given to the branch by Irish Rosettes of Cloghran. Other prizes for the dogs were vouchers from Cuddles pet store, Doggie Doos and Around a pound of Station street.  Joe the doggie man sponsored some more dog pampering prizes after the walkers returned.

Our MC on the day was the main man in the local band called Austerity Mr Tommie Nugent who had very appropriate music playing like, Doggie on the Window and Who let the dog out when he wasn’t talking which was only a short time.

As you rambled the walk questions appeared on poles about guide dogs and on returning your answer sheet the winner got a beautiful Organic Dog Treat Hamper given to the branch by Karen Anderton off Coco Bean Nom Noms.

The walk was marshalled by branch members and members of the committee of Balbriggan summer Festival
