18-Jan-12: 120 people from Balbriggan and the surrounding areas attended a public meeting organised by the "campaign against the household tax and watercharges" to hear TD Clare Daly argue the case for a boycott of this tax. The meeting had a sober and angry mood with everyone agreeing a stand had to made against the continued policy of austerity which is hurting those who can least afford it. With most people joining the campaign on the night it was also agreed to go out and knock on doors to let everyone in Balbriggan know about the campaign.
