26-Jan-12:
Have you got some time to spare each
week? Have you ever wanted to positively influence
the lives of young people in your community and develop your leadership and facilitation
skills at the same time?
If the answer
is "YES!" then look no further: Balbriggan
Youth Service is looking for able and talented adult volunteer leaders to run
exciting new youth groups in Balbriggan in 2012. The Balbriggan Youth Service
runs groups and clubs for young people aged 10 to 18 and it is managed by national
youth organisation Foróige. The organisation's purpose is to enable young people
to involve themselves actively and consciously in their own development and in
the development of society.
Volunteers
play a huge role in Balbriggan Youth Service and are crucial to the development
of young people and the local community. Current
volunteer leader Neil Lacey says "I'm a volunteer youth worker with Foróige. I
work a full time job but look forward to my few hours working with the young people
of Balbriggan every week. They never cease to amaze me in a positive way and I
feel I have something to offer them in return by way of my life experience and
by being a role model. Working side by side with the project workers in the youth
service gives me invaluable experience going forward as I seek to work professionally
in this field ". | If
