Railway Preservation Society of Ireland – Balbriggan Summerfest Express

May 26, 2013 0

There was a big crowd of rail enthusiasts, from Thomas the Tank Engine fans to steam engine buffs at Balbriggan’s Train Station for the visit of the Engine 461 which was travelling from Balbriggan to Drogheda return. Organised by the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland in conjunction with Balbriggan Summerfest the trip was sold out in record time. Fans, young and old, lined the platform as the impressive steam engine pulled in. There was lots of time for photo opportunities as the crew stoked the boiler and sounded the whistle to the delight of waiting crowd. Many thanks to the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland for a fantastic outing…
