ABTI Baton Twirling National ChampionshipsMarch 23, 2016 ADMIN 0
Gormanston Park sports complex hosted the Association of Baton Twirling in Ireland’s National Championships on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March 2016. The championships saw performances from over 300 athletes from Meath, Louth, Fingal, Wicklow, Cork city, Cork County, South Dublin, and Dublin city.
These two jam packed and exciting days of competition saw performances of very high standard which undoubtedly show that these athletes work hard and train hard for the sport that they now excel in and clearly are passionate about.
The ABTI Contest Committee would like to send their thanks again, to the talented athletes on their wonderful performances, which this year has shown a further jump in the standard of excellence. A big thank you also goes to the dedicated and hard-working judges of the championships.
Local club St Mary’s Baton Twirlers participated over the two days and it is quite obvious that this long standing, well established, amazing group have once again proved themselves as local leaders of their chosen sport. St Mary’s Baton Twirlers have increased their number of athletes over the last 12 months and their participation in this year’s championships show that this increase has helped them achieve 4th place in this year’s club standings. This was achieved through the hard work and dedication of their athletes, coaches and club directors.
