Another Medal for Balbriggan Running Postman Mick Traynor!

Final update on Mick Traynor’s last race in the World Master Championships in Lyon France.  In overcast warm conditions Mick took bronze in the 10,000m which consisted of  25 laps of the track.   Mick started off in approximately 10th place and  in the second half of the race Mick started to make amove  towards the leaders, finally finishing third behind Fontaneda of Spain who won the race and Kremer of Israel who was second. Mick was ahead of Guy Bracken who came second last week in the 5000m.  This brings Mick’s medal total to 1 gold and 4 bronze at the the World Master Championships.

Mick is delighted with his performance and would like to thank everyone for the good wishes, texts, phone calls and messages on Facebook as it means a lot. Mick had a few injury issues before coming to Lyon and would like to thank Dave Russell for all the great work he did getting him to the starting line.
