Balbriggan celebrates the art of Harry Clarke

Balbriggan is very fortunate to be the location of two magnificent stained glass windows created by the acclaimed Irish artist Harry Clarke, The Visitation and The Widow’s Son. As part of this year’s Heritage Week, Balbriggan Tourism has commissioned two large-scale storyboards to celebrate Clarke’s art in Balbriggan. Harry Clarke, Ireland’s most renowned stained-glass artist, was born in Dublin on March 17th, 1889.  He was a leading figure in the Irish Arts and Crafts Movement.

The storyboards will be on display in St Peter & Paul’s Church, Balbriggan from 20th  – 28th August, Please come to view our storyboards and the original stained-glass windows in their full glory.
