Today saw the beginning of the Balbriggan Golf Club 70th anniversary celebrations as the club reached another milestone in it’s rich history.   Over the years, many thousands of men, women and youngsters have enjoyed what Balbriggan Golf Club has to offer.   To mark the   occasion the club organised an exhibition entitled Balbriggan Golf Club past and present which included photographs and club memorabilia generously provided by club members.  Gerald Gallen and  Hugh Cumisky brought members on a trip down memory lane as they recalled stories from the past from the well kept minutes and logs which have been meticulously kept since the club was formed in 1945

These are the Captains and the Presidents and dedicated officers and committee men and women who did their bit, year after year, to make sure they passed something worthwhile on to future generations of golfers. You only have to glance at the names of these ladies and gentlemen to see that many of them are the fathers and grandfathers of existing members, clearly illustrating a strong tradition of family service to the club.

The celebrations will continue tomorrow with a 70^th Anniversary Scramble and to finish off the celebrations there will be a BBQ from 7.00pm . Music will be provided on the night by Heartbeat  from 9.00pm till late..
