Balbriggan Golf Club Fundraiser Raises €2765 for NBCRIJune 10, 2015 ADMIN 0
Balbriggan Golf Club turned pink on Tuesday 9th June 2015 in aid of National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI). The event was organised by Elaine Whelan and she was delighted with the turnout on the day as the timesheet was completely full and the weather was beautiful.
The Ladies all looked splendid in pink and we are delighted to say that Balbriggan Golf Club has some real men who looked dashing in Pink. On the day there was a separate competition for the Men and the Ladies. Hugh Devlin of High Street sponsored a prize of a Pink Bicycle for anyone god enough to get a hole in one. Lady Captain Collette Guildea presented the prizes on the night.
The winners of the Men’s competition were 1st John McConnell , Mark Gorham and Eddie Foley, 2nd Ruiridhi Ford, Wayne Lamb and Gerard Dunn and the winners of the ladies competition were 1st Mena Ball, Shiela Cole and Jean Gogarty. 2nd Mary Kavanagh, Moya O Connor and Margaret O”Brien and 3rd place went to Mary Hackett, Vanessa Harford and Marion Mc Dermott.
Mary Guest and Alan Williams captured the prizes for the Best Dressed in Pink on the day Miriam Hand from NBCRI was in attendance on the night and thanked everyone for all their support in helping to fund raise. Lady Capt Collette presented Miriam with a cheque in the sum of €2765. 00.
A fundraising raffle was held on the night and Balbriggan Golf Club would like to thank everyone who sponsored raffle prizes The golf club would like to thank everyone who participated on the day and a special thank you to Elaine Whelan and everyone who helped her with the event. Much needed funds were raised for a very needy cause and another great day and night was held at Balbriggan Golf Club.
