Balbriggan Golf Club Turns Pink for NBCRI

Balbriggan Golf Club turned pink on Tuesday 5th April 2016 in aid of National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI).   Presentation were made by fantastic Lady Golfer Mary McKenna MBE, Past Captain of Great Britain & Ireland Curtis Cup Team and past President of The ILGU ( Irish Ladies Golf Union ) just a few of her many achievements.

NBCRIThe Ladies all looked splendid in pink and we are delighted to say that Balbriggan Golf Club has some real men who looked dashing in Pink. On the day there was a separate competition for the Men and the Ladies.

The winners of the Men’s scramble were 1st Eamon O’Brien, John McCloskey, Brian Finnigan with a comb hcp 6, score 59, 2nd Jim Casey, Ronan Maguire, Kenneth Armstrong comb hcp 6.5, score 62.5 and the winners of the Ladies scramble were 1st Evelyn Whelan, Lyndsey Staunton, Sinead Walsh comb hcp 10.5, score 64.5 and 2nd Gillian Whelan, Amanda Williams, Ann White comb hcp 6, score 65.

The longest drive went to Mark Farrell for the mens and Evelyn Tolan for the ladies and Anne White who got nearest the pin at 37 inches.  Best dressed on the day went to a well deserved Alan Williams and Orla Rooney.

A great day of golf whilst raising money for a great cause.
