Balbriggan Legend Molly Wherity celebrates turning 90!August 24, 2019 ADMIN 0
Balbriggan Legend Molly Wherity celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends with a special tea in the Bracken Court hotel on Saturday 24th August. A popular lady and an inspiration to everyone she knows Molly has certainly lived life to the full and has given so much of her life to the community and has loved every minute of it.
Molly was one of the founder members of The Order of Malta and has been fundraising for research into Cystic Fibrosis for over 30 years. Being involved in the ICA, Meals on Wheels, the Writers group, the Flower Arrangers in the church, Padre Pio and one of the first women in the town to introduce the women’s studies, Molly has won awards and accolades in all she was involved in. Now Molly still holds court at her knitting group in the senior citizens group every Tuesday and loves her friends there!
Along with many presents and birthday cards, Des Flynn presented Molly with a photo of her early days in the Order of Malta
Molly’s daughter Collette told Balbriggan.info “We are so very proud of her to say the least, not only because of her involvement and achievements but because of her caring and kind nature, always having time for everyone. We are so lucky to have had her in our lives for so long and love and cherish her always!”
Happy Birthday Molly, we hope your 90th birthday, like your lifetime, is full of love from family and friends, unbridled joy, unforgettable moments and, ultimately, many more happy memories…
