Balbriggan Roadrunners Ardgillan Parkrun AppealOctober 22, 2013 ADMIN 0
Back in August we brought you the story of Balbriggan Roadrunners campaign to bring Parkrun to Ardgillan Castle. The group have tried various means to get the start-up funding, National Lottery Grant Scheme, Arthur Guinness Project fund but without success so far. Everyone has been helpful and supportive to them in their attempts for which they are very grateful.
There is a once off cost of €3,000 required to set up Parkrun and Balbriggan Roadrunners have decided to fund raise themselves to get the money needed to get the project going and they are asking local businesses, community groups, fellow runners and walkers, other clubs, friends, family and anyone who would like to see this project up and running to contribute whatever they can, however large or small.
So if you, your company or club would like to support this great cause you can:
- Sponsor individual runners – they will find you or you can approach them: Paul Bissett, Samantha Pendlebury, Victor Pendlebury, Karin McGrath, Colleen McKenzie, Tony Forde, Pauline Titier, Paul Barclay, Lizzie Cairns, Alan King, Suzie McCarthy, Colm Campbell and more to follow
- or you can….. Write a cheque payable to Balbriggan Roadrunners Lodge or transfer your donations electronically to the club account:
AIB Balbriggan Sort Code: 93-20-19 Account No: 36875014
The parkrun would be a great addition to Balbriggan and surrounding areas. There aren’t many free events nowadays and this would bring people together in a fun and friendly way, help people to keep fit and healthy and bring people to the area to see what we have to offer in North Fingal.
