Balbriggan Six-pack Club Charity Football Match

October 30, 2017 0

Last year “The Balbriggan Six-pack Club” raised funds for diabetes Ireland following a sponsor weight loss programme.  The Six- Pack club decided to build on last year’s success and are currently raising funds for a local cause “The Barrett Boys EDS ” (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome).

Balbriggan FC committee members Richie Barretts nephews are suffering from EDS for which there is no treatment in Ireland. The boys are constantly traveling back and forth to Great Ormond street hospital in the UK to be treated.

While there is no cure for this condition, the treatment they are currently receiving will only serve to extend the period of time they can live a normal life, unfortunately they are faced with an array of side effects for the rest of their lives and will eventually become wheelchair bound.

The “original” Six Pack Club have expanded and have been joined by some more brave souls who are associated with Balbriggan Football Club and are already 6 weeks into the weight loss program. The group  pulled together for a Charity Football Match  to raise awareness for the charity and the condition.

Please come along for a laugh at us trying to play football and help us raise some vital funds for a worthy cause. There will be a small raffle held on the day and raffle tickets will also be available to buy.
