The Balbriggan Summerfest Charity Football took place at Glebe North FC last night. Balbriggan Locals took on Balbriggan Gardai in aid of the Adam Dunne Fund. During half time young spectators had a chance to take part in a penalty shootout. A big well done to Balbriggan locals on a great win. Presenting the prize to the winning team was Amy Dunne sister of Adam Dunne.
Adam a 9 year old from Balbriggan has a rare, complex auto-immune disease and immunodeficiency problem requiring a bone marrow transplant. Adam and his family are currently in the UK where Adam is undergoing treatment and any monies raised will go towards the costs for his parents to remain close to him in Newcastle which could be 6 months or more.
Garda Kate Daly Ní Bhroín and Garda Dave Sheeran would like to thank the teams, FAI officials, ref John Thornton, the sponsors and all the spectators who turned up to support the teams.
