Balbriggan Tidy Towns Adopt-a-Patch appreciation night

February 23, 2017 0

Balbriggan Tidy Towns celebrated the great work being done by volunteers at our second annual Adopt a Patch appreciation night, last night, in the Bracken Court Hotel. It was a nice occasion to bring together the many people in Balbriggan who keep adopted areas clean and tidy throughout the year.

Over a drink and some food we were given a wonderful presentation on summer flowering plants by Dominica McKevitt, Head Gardener in Ardgillan.

Another highlight of the evening was our chance to wish Jim Mulligan a very happy retirement from his work with Fingal County Council. His dedication to keeping Balbriggan clean will be greatly missed but more so his friendly word and big smile on the street each day.

Adopt-a-Patch has gone a long way to improving the local environment and increasing our score to 273. We welcome new volunteers all the time. Contact us on balbriggantidytowns@gmail.com to see what you can do.
