balbriggan_tidy_townsThe goal of Balbriggan Tidy Towns is to make Balbriggan a better place to live in and enjoy, in order to do this they need your help…

Balbriggan Tidy Towns meet every Saturday at 11am on the beach. Bags, gloves, tools, litter-pickers available… everyone is welcome to come along and help out so don’t be shy, get involved for the good of the town!

Balbriggan Tidy Towns has a number of projects they are looking for volunteers for or people to drive.  The national Tidy Towns competition measures not just the litter but the wildlife habitats, natural amenities, community involvement and planning to name but a few.  If you have a couple of hours to spare and would like to drive/assist in one of these projects please get in touch by emailing

The National Tidy Towns competition is a good gauge on how our town is perceived.

The competition started in 1958 and has on average 700 entries each year.  The goal of the National Tidy Towns competition  is to encourage communities to improve their local environment and make their area a better place to live, work and visit

Some other areas that residents can help with are adopting a patch i.e. see Naul Road to front of Westbrook, Painting the inside of the tunnel to the beach at Convent Lane, Painting of wall at rear of train station… so much to do, so little time!!
