Busy Summer Programme at Remember Us

Remember us 6 week summer programme is up and running and it is a very busy time for members, parents and volunteers. Approx 150 members will participate in the summer programme.  So far our 4 to 17 year age group have had a trip to Airfield city farm where members got to sow  seeds,  see the animals, had a tour of the house and much more.

remember_us_special_needs_group_144x97Next we headed to Ardgillan Park where Activity Nation put on wall climbing, archery, grass sledging, team games and paint ball. Then it was up to Clara Lara fun park and onto Kia Ora mini farm where members got to try go carting, mini diggers, got a spin on a fire engine, played football and much more. More fun was had at Turvey woods when O.W.L.S provide shelter building, games and toasting marshmallows on the fire.

Next we went to Carlingford to visit the Leprechaun and Fairy Cavern. Kevin was so good at telling the story we all now believe in leprechauns!!!!!

Our adult members had an falconry session and archery for our adult followed by Footee golf in Tallaght and more activities provided by Activity Nation in Ardgillan park

After a very busy and enjoyable 2nd week we. Head into another busy one. Tuesday we are heading down to Monygall to Loughton House at the kind invitation of Dorothy Reilly. Games, refreshments, and a nice walk around the gardens are the order of the day. Thank you Dorothy for the very kind invitation.

Wednesday we are heading to the beach for a bushcraft session. Then that evening our Cool rockers are bowling in AlSAA. Thursday we are off to Mullingar for a Victorian Escapade. Jobs a plenty , we will see what life downstairs was like in a big house like Downtown Abbey. In the lap of luxury upstairs we will have historical high jinks thank God.  Next weekend is a bank holiday as we will need the whole week end to recover!!!!!

More activities to follow include a trip to W5 in Belfast, multi sports session in NZone, trip to Grennan Maze in Wicklow, trip to Glendalough, fun and games in Malahide castle, Causeys experience where members will make brown break, maybe milk a cow, play a bowran. we will have a media lab night and a trip to Tayto park along with a bingo night and a meal night, Newbridge farm and to round it all off we will have a party with games and a magician.

What a summer Remember us will have!!!! lets hope the sun shines !!!!!!!!!!!!

A big thank you has to go to all our amazing volunteers who give up so much time to support our members on all the days out.  We would not be able to provide the summer programme without them. Thanks also goes to Fingal County Council for a grant of €2,000 towards the programme.
