They had to complete a minimum of 1 hour exercise per week for 12 weeks. (during the months February, March and April) They participated in Gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do, Bowling Fit for Fun, Circus Skills, Wall Climbing, Indoor golf, Tag Rugby, as well as many form of Dance including Disco, Hip Hop, Zumba and irish Dancing.

All groups received trophies and certificates for their efforts. 38 groups were presented with their awards at a Recognition event in Phibblestown Community Centre at Colaiste Pobail Setanta, Clonee, Dublin 15, on Tuesday May 27th. However, Remember Us was the only Special Needs Group both participating in the challenge and receiving awards at the recognition event.

WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED – REMEMBER US IS EXTREMELY PROUD OF THEM ALL.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to our fundraising efforts in the Flora Ladies Mini Marathon, those who trained hard, sourced sponsorship and particularly those who participated on behalf of Remember Us Your hard work is much appreciated especially by those who will benefit from our Respite Break in the Quality Hotel and Apartments in Youghal at the end of June and towards which the funds raised will be going.

All staff and many of the volunteers at Remember Us completed and introduction to First Aid on Tuesday 4th June in St. Teresa’s School, Balbriggan. Thank you to Berwick Occupational First Aid Resources and particularly to a superb instructor Berni Adamson who managed to inform and train us all in a very serious subject in a wonderful light hearted way. Everybody learned a lot while having a great evening as well. Thanks again Berni.

Finally, Remember Us club nights will finish on Thursday 19th June and we will have a break before commencing our very full and busy Summer Programme on Tuesday 15th July.

Remember us looks forward to seeing all our members there.
