David Brangan 1944 – 2018, Rest In PeaceMarch 20, 2018 ADMIN 0
It is with great sadness that we have lost a dear friend and key member of the Balbriggan.info team, David Brangan.
David was an amazing community champion who also volunteered for Balbriggan Meals on Wheels, Balbriggan Cancer Support Group, the Balbriggan Branch of the Irish Guide Dogs and Balbriggan Tidy Towns. David was always around taking photos to help promote this great town of ours and everything in it.
To see Balbriggan in the eyes of David Brangan you just needed to look at his photos – they spoke a thousand words. He captured young and old, and people were always smiling in them, that’s because they were smiling at David!
David never tired and was always giving back to the community, always ready to lend a helping hand no matter what the time of day or night. He gave his time selflessly and never had a bad word to say.
David passed peacefully in the loving care of the Doctors, Nurses & staff of St. Francis Hospice Raheny. His passing comes as a tremendous loss to his wife Colette, Daughter Barbara, Son Brian, son-in-law Frank, daughter-in-law Aine, grandchildren Aoibhe, Jack, Finn, Kate and Érin. Sisters Kathleen, Nuala, Anne and Doreen. Brothers Colm, Paul and the late Anthony, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
David was a real pillar of our community. The imprint he leaves in the town is difficult to overstate. It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, and a day to love them, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them.
David will be reposing at his home on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10am in St Peter & Paul’s Church, Balbriggan with burial in Balrothery Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Cancer Support Group Balbriggan C/O Martin Farrell & Sons, Ballinalee, Co. Longford or in donations box in church.
