€4m allocation in the Capital Programme 2018-2020.  Following Fingal’s adopted heritage properties review in December 2016 Bremore Castle was identified as having the potential to be a high end event venue that could bring an ancient castle back to life and help generate revenues and jobs for the town of Balbriggan.  Within a wider regeneration plan this could open up the town, enhance its attractiveness with landscaping and link the castle to the town both economically and socially.

The report has recommended that Fingal County Council commission a full feasibility study for the Castle and drive a preferred option for its redevelopment, within an integrated Fingal Heritage strategy.

SLR Consulting have been awarded the contract to undertake a commercial plan for Bremore Castle that will create a visitor experience for tourists and the local community.

This has been a long awaited project and a very welcome investment from Fingal County Council which will see the castle move towards a tourist attraction for the town of Balbriggan
