The world show was held on January 15th -24th 2010 in Matosinhos in Portugal. 20.000 Birds were exhibited a this years show, which was a huge success. Eddie Darcy from Balbriggan had great success with two Irish Fancy canaries, a clear Buff Hen was awarded a Gold Medal and a Bronze Medal was Awarded for a variegated Buff Hen.
Eire Ornithological Association C.O.M. Ireland had 62 Birds entered at the show. The Birds were transported to Portugal by Road & Sea By Two of our members Peter Sherlock & Maurice O’Connor. The trip took 3 days and was rewarded with 4 Gold Medals & 2 Bronze Medals Coming to our Association in Ireland

This was a great achievement for the Irish Members as it was only the third year competing at the World Show. C.O.M. Is Confederadion Ornithologizue Mondiale.

Our Stand the E. O.A. Ireland was very attractive showing views of our tourist Attractions and samples of Irish Cheeses from Wexford, Irish Biscuits, Irish TAYTO, also Irish Drinks & Sweets From Ireland.
The International Visitors highly commended the Irish Foods our Stand Was well attended by many and some Irish Visitors
