An Garda Siochana promoting the service of remote visual communication facilities for members of the community who are isolating
January 6, 2021 ADMIN 0Below is a photo of Balbriggan Community Gardai providing remote tablet visual communication facilities for members of the community who are isolating and who have not been in a position to see or meet family and friends during the Covid 19 pandemic.
This is part of the Dublin City Council Community Response Forum which is part of the governments’ Community Call response to Covid 19. This service is now extended into the Fingal County Council Areas of the DMR North Division (Ballymun, Raheny and Coolock Garda Districts). Gardai are identifying vulnerable and elderly people who may need assistance and some who may be supported in this way.
This afternoon Sergeant Fiona Savidge and Garda Mark McKenna Community Policing Unit Balbriggan, facilitated a lady from Curran Park to video call her grandchildren in Kilkenny who she had not seen in a number of months. Both Grandmother and Grandkids were delighted to catch up and see each other face to face.
This is an excellent initiative and is available for use by residents in the Balbriggan Garda District. Please call Balbriggan Garda Station 01 6664500 to speak with Community Gardai in relation to the use of the tablet facility.
