It gives me great pleasure to welcome Grimme Equipment Ireland Ltd –  a farm machinery manufacturer to Balbriggan.  Today Christoph Grimme turned the sod on their newly acquired site at units 6 & 7 in Stephenstown Industrial park, Balbriggan.  The new building will consisting of a retail/service area workshop & ancillary offices and include customer & staff car parking, display areas, wash down area, small plant room & wash room.

Grimme employs over 2000 people around the world and their machines are sold in over 120 countries by local dealers. The company has its own subsidiaries and service agencies in their target markets Belgium, China, Denmark, France, Great Britain, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia,Turkey and U.S.A.

I’m delighted to see the efforts made by Fingal County Council in promoting Stephenstown in Balbriggan as an ideal location.  These fully services sites have every advantage to attract start-up companies and companies that want to relocate.

I wish Grimme every success in the future and look forward to welcoming more companies to Balbriggan to provide much needed jobs for the area.
