Irish Coast Guard Helicopter Lands in the Naul

June 22, 2013 0

The Irish Coast Guard put on a spectacular display today as they landed their Sikorsky S-61N Helicopter in the Clann Mhuire CLG pitch in the Naul. The visit gave a fantastic opportunity for everyone to get up close and learn about the workings of the helicoptor.

The children even had a chance to try out the harness (thanks to a very strong winch-man!). Balbriggan Fire Brigade were also on hand to assist in the visit and the fire engine was a great hit with the children. This visit was part of the Water Safety Programme being run by the Irish Coast Guard and it was also one of the last chances to see this particular Helicopter S61 as it will be retiring soon and will be replaced by the new S92 Helicopter. A BIG Thank you to the Irish Coast Guard for a great visit and for the fantastic work that they do in saving lives…
