The latest news as of 4.30pm on Tuesday 8 June; 271 additional cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. This number of cases may change due to future data validation. 77 COVID-19 patients are in hospital, of which 27 are in intensive care (ICU).
Latest update on vaccines:
Due to the current disruption of HSE IT systems, some indicators on the GeoHive COVID-19 hub are paused until further notice. Data indicators on the hub which are coloured in blue are now being updated, while updates to indicators in grey remain paused.
As of Tuesday 11 May there have been 1,922,913 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Ireland:
- 1,408,105 people have received their first dose
- 514,808 people have received their second dose
