Balbriggan and District Athletic Club’s in recent years – The membership has grown at both Juvenile and Senior level to almost 240 members. A healthy competitive spirit exists within the club and there is an appetite to progress and expand in the future.

Activities include shot putt, long jump and more…
The juvenile coach team has also expanded to 22 coaches with most receiving Athletics Ireland coaching certificates and further training planned for 2018.
In competition, Balbriggan and District AC has once again proved to be a growing, competing Athletic Club. There was increased participation at Juvenile level and good placings achieved. At Senior level medals were won at Dublin, Leinster and National level.
In 2018 we want to improve participation in events for both junior and seniors.
The aims and objectives of the club continue to be: promotion of, participation and competition in, the sport of Athletics (track and field, cross country and road running) in a fair, safe, equal and ethical manner.
The club’s finances are in a healthy state, and among our future medium and long term goals we will be upgrading training equipment, improving training opportunities, increasing competition/event participation with more coached activities for seniors. We are also hoping to promote the idea of a permanent running and training facility in Balbriggan.
Our juvenile training for 2018 will be twice a week over 34 weeks (as per school terms). There are some further ideas for senior training along with the current scheduled Wednesday speed sessions.
Membership is open for 2018. Fees are €40 for all. At some juvenile ages, a waiting list is in operation due to demand and capacity. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 089 2444924
