Overview

Remember Us website is a Social Group for people with special needs and their families. We cater for members from age 4 through adulthood from North County Dublin and surrounding areas. The aim of the group is:-

  • To provide an integrated social environment for people with special needs where they can learn, form friendships, and above all have fun
  • To Develop their social and life skills, self-esteem and quality of life
  • To help combat the feeling of isolation and help them to integrate into the community.
  • To provide support and information for our parents, carers and siblings
  • The ‘Club’, as our members like to call the group, caters for members from North Co. Dublin and surrounding areas.
  • The club currently provides an invaluable service to over 170 families.
  • Remember Us was established in 1998 as a result of research which identified that no comparable service was available in the North Co Dublin area. Remember Us was a direct response to a need identified by parents of children with special needs for support and interaction in the community.
  • The club has grown from a once a week social club to providing programmes five times per week, offering the members a wide variety of activities and outings where they can learn, form friendships, develop their social and life skills, self- esteem and quality of life.
  • It has helped improve the lives of young people with special needs, as well as the lives of their families, friends and the wider community of North County Dublin by providing a service that otherwise does not exist.
  • The scope of activities and social benefits provided by Remember Us have become ‘A LIFELINE’  for the young people and their families
  • The clubs run on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings, 2 Friday evenings of the month and on Saturdays.
