Lost loved ones commemorate during National Tree Week 2021March 27, 2021 ADMIN 0
To celebrate National Tree Week Fingal County Council has planted native specimen oak trees as a commemoration to lost loved ones during this challenging year. They were also delighted to launch the Bremore Park Tree Trail in Balbriggan. With level 5 restrictions remaining in place during National Tree Week 2021, it was not possible to have associated public events or tree giveaways to celebrate the week. However, it was important to the Council that this annual celebration of trees was marked in an appropriate manner.
In each of the following Fingal Parks: Ardgillan Demesne, Newbridge Demesne, Santry Demesne, Malahide Demesne, St. Catherine’s Park in Lucan, Millenium Park and Ward Rivervalley Park native specimen oak trees were planted as a commemoration to lost loved ones during this challenging year.
A new tree trail was also introduced into Bremore Regional Park and it was fantastic to have this self-guided tree walk in place for people to enjoy during National Tree Week. This project was the collaborative work of Balbriggan Tidy Towns, St Molaga’s National School and Operations Department Fingal County Council.
Fingal County Council are now looking forward to National Tree Week 2022 where they will have more interesting projects and initiatives planned.
