Murphy says NO to Irish Water

Fingal County Councillor Tony Murphy, in a hard hitting statement, says that it’s time to call a halt to the debacle that is Irish Water. “I don’t agree with charging people for water when we are already paying for it through our taxes. Furthermore, I do not agree with

the imposition of the cost of establishing another white elephant organisation on the backs of taxpayers” says Councillor Murphy.

“Irish Water has been created at a ridiculous cost to taxpayers who are struggling with a depressed economy, low wages, job losses and property taxes”.

The government have placed an unnecessary additional burden on taxpayers by the establishment of Irish Water, a company with all the hallmarks of an entity which will be sold to private investors leaving the citizens of Ireland with no control over a vital natural resource.

“I have a clear understanding from my experience while canvassing and in my weekly clinics that there is a clear disconnect between the legislators and the paying public. The government have lost touch with the people, are acting in an arrogant manner and they simply don’t get it” says Councillor Murphy.
