A new state of the art Water Recycling Jet-Vac has commenced operation within Fingal. The new Recycler machine offers a very efficient method of sewer cleaning and blockage removal and operates in a tremendously environmentally friendly manner by the utilisation of water recycler technology as opposed to the older conventional tankers which were required to be filled with fresh drinking water regularly to operate. Its highly automated setup has the added benefit of providing very safe working conditions for operators.

This investment by Irish Water in a new Water Recycling Jet-Vac for Fingal County Council followed a lengthy process of engagement and consultation instigated by the Water Services staff of Fingal County Council.

Speaking about the new recycler, Gilbert Power, Director of Services Fingal County Council said “The new recycler is part of Irish Water and Fingal’s ongoing strategy to improve the service delivered to customers. This will bring new levels of efficiency to the sewer cleaning that has not been seen before in Ireland. ”

The new, modern fleet will enable Fingal staff to carry out their work in greater safety, while also being able to set up operations on site in a shorter time frame when dealing with blockages and general maintenance in the sewer network. The new high tech truck has an enhanced CCTV survey system to identity where blockages are in the sewers which will enable faster cleaning of the sewers, remove blockages, and complete high pressure cleaning.

This investment is a recognition by Irish Water of the strategic importance of Fingal Water Services in the provision of a well-managed maintenance service and in their continuing to ensure the highest environmental standards and environmental compliance throughout the wastewater network.
