Railway Street – A New Beginning

Residents and friends, Railway Street, which sits in the heart of our community is about to experience a transformation and, to celebrate, an exciting free community event has been arranged. The community organisation, Balbriggan Public Realm Implementation Group, which is tasked with kick-starting the transformation of Railway Street, has arranged an Open Day on Sunday November 25th to introduce residents of Balbriggan to the proposed changes and to have FUN. Inspiring Integration Conference in Balbriggan

Cairde ran an ‘Inspiring Integration Conference’ in the Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan where opportunities to share best integration practices from various regions in and outside of Ireland which could be implemented in Balbriggan were shared. The conferfence provided a space for the service providers, decision makers, community leaders and residents to network, discuss challenges and successes experienced in their work and life and to draw up strategies for improvement. Fly Tipping in Balbriggan

Balbriggan Tidy Towns volunteers removed many bags of rubbish from the Bridle path and adjacent spaces linking Vauxhall Street and Clonard Street on Saturday 3rd November. A similar volume of waste from anti social drinking was not recovered as it is deposited in difficult steep slopes near the river Bracken. (more…)


The Battle of Balbriggan – Fight Night!

Balbriggan must have been like an abandoned town tonight as thousands of people headed to the Wright Venue in Swords for the Battle of Balbriggan. The boxers had been training hard under the expertise of Coaches Kieran and Aaron O’Neill from the Bracken Boxing Club for the last six weeks and they put on a fantastic night of boxing that Dublin’s National Boxing Stadium would have been proud to host!
