Because Parvo Virus has been detected in Balbriggan, particularly in the Brega area, it is advised that dog owners vaccinate their dogs if they have not done so in the past twelve months. The symptoms of parvo are vomiting and diarrhoea and can be fatal. (more…)


Balbriggan Community Safety Week – Film Day in Balbriggan Cinema

A film ‘Adam and Paul’ by kind permission of the Irish Film Institute Film Archive and Elements Pictures for secondary school students was shown at Balbriggan Cinema as part of the Balbriggan Community Safety Week. The film showed gave an insight into two guys who’s lives were impacted by drug and alcohol abuse showing the damage that drug and alcohol can cause both physically and mentally. (more…)

Balbriggan Community Safety Week Quiz Night

During the safety week a quiz night was held in the Milestone Inn with all proceeds going to Balbriggan Meals on Wheels. There were 12 tables playing for the top prize and the winners on the night were Mixed Bags. Prizes on the night were sponsored by Tesco Balbriggan and Gleeson’s butchers. (more…)


Official Launch of Balbriggan Community Safety Week 2012

The sun was shining as Minister for State Roisin Shorthall officially opened the Balbriggan Community Safety Week. Television crews from RTE & TV3 were on hand along with reporters from the national newspapers and radio stations. The Balbriggan Fish & Farmers market was underway on the square during this time with 17 different organisations showcasing what they do in the local community. (more…)


Balbriggan Train Services to be Cut this Winter

Irish Rail has announced a number of changes to train services via Connolly station. One off-peak service in each direction between Dublin and Balbriggan will be cancelled. The implementation date for the proposed new timetable will be announced at a later date. (more…)

These meetings which take place 4 times per year offer residents an opportunity to bring up issues concerning crime and anti-social behaviour to members of An Garda Siochanna and Fingal County Council.
