Tuesday March 15th, 2016 is Proclamation Day and every school around the country was invited to share the results of their Proclamation for a New Generation, and all other creative projects relating to 1916 that the student body have developed. Yesterday students at Balbriggan Community College dressed up for the occasion. Each student was given a copy of the Proclamation and a brief guide to the events around April 24th 1916, the proclamation itself and the history around the tricolour. Every student found the day fascinating, with many commenting on how they were really struck by the power of hearing the Proclamation read aloud to them and also by the sight of the flag being raised.
