Progressive Credit Union Gives €100,000 to local groups in 2015October 9, 2015 ADMIN 0
As we come to the end of another financial year in the offices of Progressive Credit Union, we are delighted to have worked with so many clubs, charities, and groups across our enlarged common bond. 2015 has seen further changes to Progressive Credit Union in March of this year with the addition of our 5th branch in Victory-Glasnevin. Like with many other Credit Unions nationally we have seen some changes to the practices and procedures in our offices, but we are delighted that this has not diminished our ability to give back to the community and continue with the Credit Union Ethos of giving back to the community. We have given out over €100,000 in sponsorship in 2015 and look forward to working with more worthy and devoted groups in 2016 and in the future.
We receive a vast amount of sponsorship requests throughout the financial year from a wide variety of clubs and charities and we try to provide all sponsorship with a view to benefiting the community. With this in mind, in 2015 we worked with sporting clubs across the common bond providing much needed kit and equipment, and in the funding of events at some of the local festivals working to promote and strengthen community spirit. We have donated to such groups as the Lourdes pilgrimage Group who have volunteered with the sick of the community for over 20 years. One of our larger donations this year was to the charity Nurture whose new national head office in Skerries was supported by PCU with a donation of €15,000. Nurture provides a much needed subsidised, no waiting counseling service to families in the greater Fingal area. Over 2014 and 2015 we have worked with Remember Us providing them with €30,000 to help them reach their target to secure a home and premises for this wonderful group.
Although the daily practices and procedures may change and we may have to adapt to a changing financial world in the future, we assure our members that Progressive Credit Union will continue to play an active role and to give back to the community to the best of our ability.
