Projects due for completion in Balbriggan in 2016January 4, 2016 ADMIN 0
A number of projects are under construction in Balbriggan which when complete should ease the school burden, road travel and healthcare of residents. The sight of cranes on the horizon off the Naul road shows that work is now progressing on the construction of a single three storey secondary school building – Colaiste Ghlor na Mara (9,939 sq.m. gross floor area) which will accommodate 1,000 pupils and the construction of a single two storey primary school building – Scoil Chormaic Community National School (4,368 sq.m gross floor area) will will accommodate 750 pupils. Below is an aerial photo showing progress to date.
The primary care centre in Balbriggan, also due for completion this year is also well underway. The construction works are due to be complete in Q3 2016 and it should be operational before end of 2016. Existing Primary Care staff providing a service to the Balbriggan and North County area, currently located in multiple locations, will be co-located within the new Primary Care Centre
Ground has been broken on the long-awaited Castlemill Link Road which will finally take traffic away from the doorsteps of homes in parts of Moylaragh estate in Balbriggan who have dealt with heavy traffic outside their doors for years on a road they believed would be a cul-de-sac.
Work is also coming to completion on the Dublin Road pumping station. The new pumping station with additional storm water storage, at the Dublin Road roundabout will alleviate current problems and is the first step to improving local drainage and help in the ongoing improvements in bathing water quality
We will continue to bring you updates on the progress over the coming months and look forward to seeing these projects being completed in 2016.
