Remember Us Keeping Positive

May 6, 2020 0

Remember us are now 8 week off from club activities. To keep our members engaged we have a different theme for photos/ videos for our Facebook page each week. Eg. pet week, smile week, fancy dress week, sports week and more. Each week on a Friday Paul and I dress up and do a video to announce the following weeks theme.

remember_us_special_needs_group_144x97I also send a Webtext to all families and volunteers each week to say hello and see how everyone is getting on. I personally ring some families who just need to have a chat or vice versa.

Also each Saturday at 3pm on our Facebook page Nikki Lynch who did “Stars in their eyes” a couple of years back with us does a different theme dance class. We have had an 80s theme, Barn Dance and Rock n Roll theme so far. Our members and their families are really enjoying them.

We are also starting a family Zoom bingo every Wednesday night. 140 people will be playing so it will be great fun!!! We have vouchers as prizes.

On Bank Holiday weekends we run a Competition for our members, their families and our volunteers. We have had prizes of an Easter Hamper kindly donated by Irish Centre for Cycling in Malahide and a 1 night B&B&1 evening meal kindly donated by the Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe , Co. Galway. A big thanks to all for the donations.

Our annual Charity cycle which was due to take place this month is postponed due to COVID 19 restrictions.  It anyone out there would like to donate vouchers, raffle prizes or make a financial donation we would love to hear from you.

Stay safe and please adhere to all the Government guidelines.

Keep positive, keep the head up and keep smiling.  We will get through this together.
