Remember Us using creative ways to stay in touch

June 7, 2020 0

As we are off club just over 3 months now We are missing our members so much, their faces, their smiles, their fabulous personalities and their bigger than life hearts. It has been tough for us all not to see you in person on a regular basis. We are however still working and doing our very best to stay in touch with you in new innovative and creative ways. We are here for you. No request is too big or too small. Between zoom quiz, zoom bingo, dance sessions / Theme weeks on Facebook, we are keeping our members busy.

remember_us_special_needs_group_144x97We also have prizes for bingo, quiz, dance sessions and Bank Holiday weekend competitions. We webtext all families and volunteers every week and make phone calls to some also.

We would like to thank Deirdre one of our parents for making approx 170 face masks and Cathy another parent for making 50. We facilitate them going out to the families.

We are very happy for our Member Philip Walsh who celebrated his birthday in style last week thanks to the generosity of local celebrities, the President of Ireland who sent him a lovely letter and the many people around Ireland who sent him cards. We live in a great country when you see what people did for Philip and how they have supported so many charities over the past few months.

Remember us would like to acknowledge and Thank most Sincerely AIB Balbriggan for their kind donation of €500. This is been used to sponsor our Zoom bingo/Zoom Family prizes/ dance competitions. As we are unable run our clubs due to COVID 19 we are using Zoom and social media to keep connected with our members and their families. Once again a million thanks for the support AIB Balbriggan.

If anyone out there would like to donate vouchers, money etc to our charity we would be extremely grateful as we have lost out on fundraising in the past few months.

We also should be going on a family respite break on this Saturday 6th for the week to the Quality Hotel, Youghal, co. Cork and our 6 week Summer camp won’t be going ahead either. Our members are disappointed but as I say, Keep positive, keep the head up, keep smiling and please adhere to the Government Guidelines and we will have better times when this pandemic is over.
