STORM TRACKER: Serious Concerns as Hurricane Lorenzo expected to track close to IrelandOctober 1, 2019 ADMIN 0
October has certainly started with a bang with Hurricane Lorenzo expected to track very close to or over Ireland late Thursday or Friday. With high winds and driving rain today it looks like the worse is yet to come. Lorenzo is a large and powerful hurricane, and its storm-force wind fields are expected to expand further during the next few days.
Meteorologists are warning that large swells generated by Hurricane Lorenzo will continue to spread across much of the North Atlantic basin during the next few days, producing life threatening swells and rip currents.
Lorenzo is the strongest hurricane to track this far north and Met Éireann are currently updating their forecasting models and is expected to issue weather warnings tomorrow which would take effect from midday on Thursday until noon on Friday.
