March 16, 2018 0

Teacher Cliona Brennock,  a 3rd class teacher in St Molaga’s SNS in Balbriggan has asked for our help.  Cliona’s class are doing a project based on the UN Global Development Goals. As part of their project they are writing to lots of the businesses in Balbriggan to ask them to stop selling or providing plastic straws. Plastic straws are not recyclable and often end up littering the plant and the oceans and can cause .  It takes 200 years for a single plastic straw to break down.

The students have written to Fingal County Council,  Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce and Balbriggan Tidy Town. and to local Councillors Grainne Maguire and Tony Murphy who have already offered their support.

Please support the students in the quest to stop the sale and use of plastic straws.
