St. Teresa’s primary school in Balbriggan raised their 4th Green Flag on Friday 20th June. The flag was awarded for Sustainable Travel in which the school sets their own travel targets, with the ultimate aim of increasing the number of pupils walking, cycling, park ‘n’ stride, carpooling or using public transport, which will ease congestion by reducing the number of private cars arriving at the school gates. This follows a year of hard work by the school. The flag was officially raised by Cllr. Grainne Maguire who deputised for the new mayor of Fingal. She praised the pupils in St. Teresa’s as ‘Champions of the Environment’. This award makes St. Teresa’s one of the most environmentally-friendly schools in Fingal.
