Star of the Sea Athletics Club present cheques to the value of €5,524.96 to two very deserving causes
July 18, 2021 ADMIN 0On Saturday morning Star of the Sea Athletics Club presented cheques to the value of €5,524.96 to two very deserving causes. Balbriggan Cancer Support Group received a cheque for €2,838.48 and Andrew Coscoran Olympic Fund Training fund received €2,686.48.
The monies were raised by Star of the Sea AC at their 4th Annual 5k Road Race and Fun Run which takes place each year in memory of their team mate Michelle McKiernan.
The main sponsor of the run is Centra stamullen and the club would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Gary Dunne and to the 368 runners who entered the race. In addition, they would like also like to recognise the kindness and generosity received from Balbriggan Road Runners who kindly donated €920 from their own race profits to Andrew Coscorans Olympic Training Fund. Well done to all involved and best of luck to Andrew as he heads off to Tokyo on Wednesday to represent Ireland in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
