An educational initiative designed to increase students’ interest in Maths, commenced this week in five fifth classes in St Molaga’s National School in Bremore, Balbriggan. The Overall Programme aims to increase awareness of a wide variety of careers available in STEAM Sectors (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) from an early age.
The innovative programme matches STEAM experts who work in finance, industrial, pharmaceutical and engineering sectors with primary school teachers and their classes for 10 weeks. During the programme in St Molagas, the students will engage specifically with Maths, in a fun and stimulating environment.
The Programme is a Partnership between Fingal County Council, Balbriggan Chamber of Commerce and Steam Education Limited. Steam provide the content for the Programmes, but buy in from local businesses is crucial to their success.
