Closure of the Coast Road between Balbriggan and Skerries

Closure of the Coast Road between Balbriggan and Skerries will begin on Tuesday 1st April and will continue until Friday 11th April 2014. Resurfacing works will take place between 8:00pm and 7:00am. Works will not be carried out on Friday 4th, Saturday 5th or Sunday 6th April 2014. Local access will be facilitated and diversions will be in place.


Skerries RNLI Raft Race 2013

The Skerries Raft race took place on the south beach in Skerries today. Thirteen well turned out rafts lined the shores as spectators waited with eager anticipation to see if they would make it to the finish line. We are very pleased to report that all thirteen rafts made it through the water stage with Rush Sailing Club made it up the bank in record time. (more…)


O’Dwyers Aiden Brennan 7-A-Side Tournament

The first annual Aiden Brennan 7-a-side tournament took place at O’Dwyers Gaa Club on Sunday 11th August 2012 at 6:00pm. Teams playing in the tournament were O’Dwyers, Ballyboughal, Clann Mhuire – Naul, Rouind Towers – Lusk and Skerries Harps. Quarter final, half final, and the final were all played with Round Towers – Lusk coming out on top. (more…)


Balbriggan Cub Scouts Visit the RNLI in Skerries

The Balbriggan Cub Scouts visited the RNLI in Skerries this evening to learn about the work that the RNLI do and check out the lifeboat station. The RNLI crew David Knight, Emma Wilson, Eoin Kelly, David Courtney, Mary Courtney and Geraldine Beggs gave the cub scouts a great welcome and an an insight into what it’s like to be a crew member. Official Opening of the New Skerries Fire Station

The official opening of the new state of the art Skerries Fire Station took place on Thursday 13th June 2013. The Chief Fire Officer and Assistant Chief from Dublin Fire Brigade along with District Officers and Station Officers from across Fingal were in attendance. Skerries Coast Guard Responds when Vehicle Skids off Cliff

The Skerries Coast Guard were called to assist in an accident on the Skerries road this morning. A vehicle which appeared to have skidded on ice at a bend north of Skerries and left the road, descending a cliff towards the beach below. The Coast Guard helicopter was also tasked to the scene. Facebox Promotions “BAND NIGHT”in Balbriggan
