Temporary ‘Do Not Swim’ Notice issued for Rush South Beach

June 22, 2018 0

Fingal County Council has issued a Temporary ‘Do Not Swim’ Notice for Rush South Beach until Wednesday, June 27, due to the risk of deterioration in water quality following an emergency sewage overflow at Rush East Shore. The Notice is precautionary pending the outcome of laboratory analysis on bathing water samples which will be taken on Monday 25. If clear, it is hoped that the Beach can re-open for bathing.

Bathing water samples have been taken fortnightly at Rush South Beach since the summer bathing season commenced and the water has been at an “Excellent” standard in each test.

Rush South Beach remains open but beach users are asked to respect the ‘Do Not Swim’ notice as it has been put in place to ensure that the health of bathers is not compromised.

Members of the public intending to enter the water at any beach in Ireland are advised to check the water quality in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
