The Wright Venue becomes a Fundraising Partner of Remember Us

Remember Us Special Needs group and their supporters rocked the night away at the Wright Venue on Wednesday night at a Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo Charity Night.  The members and their supporters danced the night away in between games and enjoyed the Disco which was made really special by D.J. Dean Sherry.

Wright, said ”We are delighted to become a Fundraising Partner to Remember Us Special Needs Group considering what a fantastic group it is with members from age 4years through to Adults availing of the clubs, the family respite breaks, the summer programme etc.  Remember Us is working so hard to raise the funds to buy their own home and we are committed to helping them, as a fundraising partner to achieving that.”

Jean, from Remember Us said “we are delighted that The Wright Venue has come on board to help up raise the funds to buy our much needed base. We would really like to thank Suzanne Mulvey for all her support and for organising such a  great night and a special thanks to Dean Sherry the D.J. for the night and to all the bar and security staff.”

Jean also said a big thank you to all the Volunteers, “without whom the Club couldn’t operate.”

“We are now half way to our target and we are so grateful to the many community groups and businesses that have already come on board. “It’s a very busy time for Remember Us with 110 of our members going to the Quality Hotel in Youghal on 20th June for a 7 day Family self-catering Respite Summer Break away with trips to West Cork Model Railway Village, Keahy Open Farm and Fota Wildlife Park planed.

“Our summer programme starts up on 14th July and will run for 4 days and 1 night each week for 6 weeks ending on Saturday 22nd August with a Summer Fete/Family Fun day fundraising event in Malahide Castle. Over the course of the six weeks the members will go on a variety of outings – check out our website at for more details.

We urgently need Volunteers, particularly for our summer programme, no experience is necessary as training and mentors are supplied. So if you have a few hours to spare and would like to assist some very special young people please contact Nora or Anne at 086 0457003 for more information.”
