Top Kenyan Athletes Cook Dinner in Swords

October 28, 2011 0

On Saturday night the Kenyan athletes who were taking part in the Marathon on Sunday cooked dinner for a few invited guests in County Hall, Swords. Cathaoirleach Grainne Maguire and Acting Mayor May Mc Keon attended as did town clerk Brian Murray. Obviously the food did the trick as these athletes were all in the top five and one of the women was second!

Kenya’s Geoffrey Ndungu won the overall men’s competition and set a new Dublin record of 2:08.33 in the process. Incredibly, the 27-year-old is not represented by a high profile agent and only travelled to Dublin because Balbriggan Town Council and Fingal County Council are twinned with German town St Wendel and paid for him to travel over.
