Up the Dubs!

December 4, 2017 0

There was great excitement at Scoil Chormaic CNS last week as we had not one, but two Dublin footballers in our midst! On Tuesday, we were delighted to welcome Dublin Ladies’ footballer Emer Ní Eafa with the Brendan Martin Cup in tow. She told the children about what it was like to play for Dublin and how excited the team were to win the Cup.

This year is the second time that the Dublin Ladies have won the Ladies All-Ireland Football Senior Championship. The last time was in 2010.

Then on Friday the children donned their Dublin colours and waved their Dublin flags again as Dublin player Evan Comerford arrived with the Sam Maguire Cup. Evan told us about life as a Dublin football player and how he started playing GAA in primary school.

The children asked some excellent questions too. What a great week!

Many thanks to O’Dwyer’s Games Promotional Officer Larissa Muldoon for facilitating these visits.
