Update on Balbriggan Fishing Boat ‘Provider’

February 10, 2018 0

Thankfully the Provider was successfully towed to Dun Laoghaire and all ropes were removed from the vessel’s propeller. After a complete inspection of all the vessel’s machinery she was given the all clear to set sail again. The vessel has made her way back to her home port of Balbriggan and the large amount of rope has been landed for inspection by An Garda Siochcana and Dept of Marine officials (photos attached).

The Provider has been targeted in the Bay of Bray by this vessel with extreme verbal abuse and physical threats being made to the vessel, her skipper and crew since she started fishing in the area in what can only be described as an act blatant thuggery. The incident on Thursday in the Bay of Bray was an unprovoked premeditated attack due to one mans greed.

The vessel will resume fishing again Monday weather permitting and is looking forward to putting this episode behind them.

All at Provider trawling would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their support and good wishes.
