Update Regarding Water Quality on Fingal Beaches

Fingal County Council placed Advisory Notices on all designated bathing areas in the County because of heavy rainfall over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Bathing Water Samples were taken on Tuesday morning, 5th August 2014 and the Central Laboratory, Marrowbone Lane issued results today.

balbriggan_beach_09jul13_smallerThe following beaches were shown to have poor water quality and ‘Bathing is Prohibited’ at these bathing areas until further notice.

Signs will be displayed as soon as possible and where lifeguards are on duty, they will continue to advise the public not to enter the water.

Microbiological Results at Claremont Beach in Howth was shown to be of Good quality while the remaining bathing areas were found to be of Excellent quality and the Advisory Notices will be removed immediately.
