On 21st January 2014 we ran the story of the late Paddy Dunphy who was responsible for keeping the clock on the library tower ticking during the 1950’s and 1960’s. Paddy was a car mechanic all his life and a well known character in the town. Paddy was paid the princely sum of five pounds per year to ensure that the clock was kept on time for the towns people.
Paddy passed away in 1977, 40 years ago this year so what a nice way to remember Paddy by republishing the story to keep his memory alive….
